Electric Feel (Justice Remix) - MGMT

Today was Susan's first day in Michigan. I tried to make it really laid back for her considering she is on vacation. We woke up at around ten, picked up some food, made these awesome sandwiches, then headed to Ericas. We watched Kyle play video games while Steph and Erica tried to solve this 100 piece puzzle. Their off to a good start. After hanging around for about an hour, Susan, Erica and I all went to the studio to play around. At first we played around a little with the lights and some gels. Then Melissa showed up and I was able to get some really good pictures! <3

Then after our small shoot, I wanted to give Susan a tour of campus. Unfortunately it was raining and muggy. So I just showed her around the art building until we headed back to my apartment.

HAPPY FIRST OF THE MONTH!

No way is it November already. I'm pretty sure we skipped over September and half of October.

Well yesterday was my favorite day of the year, HALLOWEEN!

The day was much nicer then the one before so I gave Susan a real tour of campus. The sun wasn't out but you could still see how beautiful campus was.

I took her to the art building wall that is beautifully turning all colors.

Then we went to the botanical gardens where everything was dead except for this

After our walk all around campus we met up with Steph and Erica for some wings. Then headed home to start the festivities! The night was so much fun and everyones costumes were great!

Today was a good day. My critique in color photography went by so fast. After that I just went home and finished editing some photos.

Then I pretty much just did an extreme clean of the apartment because susan is coming tonight. It's going to be so wonderful to have someone from home come just so that I can get that home feeling for a couple of days.

Dull Life - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Hi! I'm so sorry that I have neglected you my lovely blog! I wish I could say it was because I haven't had time and I have been super busy but that would be a lie. Yeah I've been busy, but my nights are mostly spent catching up on my daily TV shows. I've been working on so many projects these past weeks and honestly I couldn't be more proud of them. I can really see myself developing and growing as an artist. Freshman year I hated everything I made and was never proud of one thing. I dreaded the critiques and the embarrassment of having to hang my project up in front of the class next to a brilliant work of art by some other student. Well finally I can say that my critiques are getting easier and easier to deal with!

Lets start with Graphic Design. This is a book cover that I designed for a fairy tale. I chose The Adventures of Alice because I have always been in love with that story and I figured that since it's a trippy story I could come up with some cool de

signs. I got influenced by Mona Kuhn and her shallow depth of field. The main idea behind picture is in the story everyone keeps giving Alice things to eat or drink. Although all these things always make her too big or too small and nothing is ever fixed.

I am thinking about changing the font though.

Now on to photography. I'm only going to post up this weeks assignment and I'll post more later on in the week.

Across the Universe - The Beatles

So this week was the first week of fall. You would have never guessed considering it's still in the 70's, but trust me I'm NOT complaining. I'm not ready for seasonal depression.
Yesterday was an average Thursday plus a little bit more. Woke up at 6 to be at class by 8, stayed in class for about 40 min till I went home, then napped, and ran some errands with Julia. She had to go to the study abroad fair and so I joined her in hopes of seeing my old study abroad professor. I saw a much more amazing person.
The only thing I wanted to do before I graduated was take a picture with Sparty and I couldn't have taken it with anyone better then Ju! That pretty much was the highlight of my day. After that I went to Burger-Rama with Sammy. Even though I'm leaving Delta Gamma I'm so happy that I can still be close with girls and I adore Sammy so much. She cracks me up every second. While at Burger-Rama I ran into Megan O'Neil. She lived across the hall from me my freshman year. After chatting with her a little bit I started to realize just how old I'm starting to get and how fast time is flying! Where's the stop button in my life!!
After the bar I stopped by Erica's house for a little bit then headed home. It was the season premiere of Greys' Anatomy. I'm pretty sure there isn't a show that I cry more for than Greys. It's my me time. After the lovely two hours of TV I headed back to my room and talked on the phone with Adrian for probably close to an hour. I do not understand how he can talk to me in that state of mind, I find myself quit annoying.

I woke up this morning at around 6, than 8, than 9. My brain was just not in the mood to sleep and rest up. Julia and I played around with Foster for a bit before her and my other room mates have to leave to go and sign a lease for a house for next year. I'm so happy that they got their dream house, but at the same time I'm a little bitter. I want to live with them too, but there is no way that I'm staying in Michigan. I just can't. I filled out my CPOY stuff and wrote my letters to future photographers that I may meet. At 4 I headed to work only to have the bus break down on me. The only thing that was keeping my smiling was how beautiful the sky looked. Have to keep the small things in mind.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up. This past week has been busy. Christina and Fadi came to visit me this past weekend! It really warms my heart when my friends from Miami pay money for a plane ticket just to visit me in random Michigan. The weekend was your typical crazy hardcore college weekend!!then Monday was my first critique for graphic design. We had to pick a greek god and find a symbol that represents that god. Then intertwine that symbol with the first letter of the gods name. I chose a sun for Apollo. So I've been working on it for about 2 weeks and I was so excited about the way it turned out. I wasn't really stressed about critique and was confident that it was going to go well. It turns out I was wrong. I did not get one positive feed back from the class nor my professor. I just had to suck it up and take the comments and use them for next time. Even though I was still confident about my project I was still a little bummed out.
After class I waited for Julia at her car and had a nice long talk with Mallery. I miss her more than words can describe. When Julia got out of class she met up with me at her car and propossed the idea of going to the pet store and picking up a pet for us. We went to Pursest Pets in old town and walked out 200$ broker and a new animal. It's a Degu.

I think I'm going to make my blog titles the name of the song I'm listening to at the moment. Most likely all being Incubus songs.

So today didn't get any better. My 8 am class was hell. The whole time I was just weighting out my options of leaving early and getting caught, if it was really worth it. Fortunately today lecture was actually really interesting so I stuck it out.
Right after class I just ran home, made myself some tea and went into a full blown comma... for about an hour. So pretty much for the rest of the day I've just been working on some homework. Here's my first color photography project. It's nothing too crazy, just the basics.

So the current time is 6:24 am. I've been up since 5 on the dot. I woke up to my neck closed for the most part. I'm def getting sick. This was a really good past weekend. We had our first tailgate and football game. We won of course. I wish I could have gotten football tickets this year seeing that this is my LAST year. Unfortunately times are tough and I rather get money for food then football tickets. We met our neighbors who are AMAZING. I love them so much.
Today we went to the pool with them and had an amazing time. We met everyone who lived in this area. <3
Unfortunately I got into a minor tiff with one of my roommates, but nothing too major. I'm sure the fact that alcohol was involved had something to do with it as well. Whatever, it's time for class! Talk to you tonight.

Are You In?

Today was probably one of the funniest days of my life. Yesterday I went to burger-rama with Sammy. It started at 3 and it was all down hill from there. In the beginning I really loved getting to chill with Sammy. She is such a wonderful person and so high souled. I'm still not 100% sure how I got home. Well anyways this morning I wake up at 7am to the sound of guys voices in the hall and me in my undies and bra. I put some clothes on then just went back to bed. At about 10 I woke up again and was in desperate need of water. I opened up the fridge to find careys CD in there, then her black heel in the ice maker. Julia wakes up and we start looking around the apartment to find

I guess Jessica had brought over some guys last night and when she went to bed they got a little bored. So pretty much this whole day was laying around the apartment finding things here and there. It was like a giant game of I SPY. I need to discover a rewind button in my life so I could relive these days over and over.. but not for too long!
Julia and I watched Monster Ball which I really didn't like too much and I just played around on photoshot.

I got my boxes today! It feels like Christmas when I open them because I really never know whats in them. I unloaded all my boxes but 2. I even started to hang things up. Its a slow process but a needed one. While unpacking I started to think of how I've moved so many times to so many and how I always complain and hate the town, but when I move I miss it. New goal: appreciate what I got and what is in front of me.

Day one

I'm so upset with myself that I haven't kept up with my blog. For real I'm starting now. So I moved back to Michigan today. Sus took me wtih her little rat.. that i love. I almost missed my flight!!! I'm pretty sure that MIA is the worst possible airport in the world!!

So I finally land in Michigan and the weather is so cold and rainy. Not a pleasant welcoming. Julia picked me up and we went straight to campus. We ordered wings and just laid around with Jess. Beset first night ever!!

A Thunderous Thursday

oh dearly Thursday,
It was an enjoyable day, besides the rain! I went to work, drove around at lunch time with Erin doing the ush! Then I went back to the studio and finished up my days work. Still being in the same mind set as when Erin and I's drive took place I decided that it would be quite fitting for a nap to take place. So I napped for about an hour or so until dinner started to call. Dinner was extremely bland, but still filling. At about 10 I decided to head over to Alex's house after getting the memo that she was back in town for the weekend. When I arrived, I was greeted by the yelling of "MIAMI", "IS THAT MIAMI OVER THERE", "HERE COMES MIAMI". I was very happy to be greeted in that way. We had some beers, some wine, and an herbal remedy that Erin and I have become pros at. We were sitting outside in the front and my creativity kicked in, plus when people start to reminisce about a world I've never known.. I tend to just zone out. So I took some photographs in which I'm very proud of! After a couple hours, I let the beer and wine leak from my brain and then was finally able to go home and into my sheets!

Why hello there ddddaaarrrrllliiiinnngggg,
Today as a lovely/interesting day. I spent the whole day with my beautiful baby sister. She came to work with me and everyone loved her. Julia drew pictures for almost everyone in the office. After being at work for around 2 hours we ended up leaving. Then I took both Julia and Declan to see Harry Potter. It was 3 hours long and none of us could stand still.. it was horrible. Not on my recommendation list. After spending the whole morning, and most of the afternoon with my sister I decided it was time for an older crowd in which to communicate with. So I went over to Luke's house for a bit. Jumped in the pool and was there for less than 20 min; but that's another story of it's own. To use and to be used.
After Luke's house I went home, had dinner with the fam, and just laid around until Erin got off work. When she was off work we met up at Wills house to make a purchase. While there i met some interesting characters; especially one they tried to hook me up with. Wasn't feeling on him.. but I was feeling up on this guys CD collection and art work he had in magazines!

Day 1

After a long day at the studio Erin and I decided to go on a mini photography adventure. We lit and our creative gears started to run. We traveled back to the studio and got a couple pictures of cows until we got bored. Then we just cruised around and ended up at the same nature trail we had started our summer off at. It was beautiful because there is a dam that we got to walk across to discover a waterfall! The day was BEAUTIFUL!







Then later in the night we headed back to erins house and her aunt cooked up the BEST dinner!! After about an hour of letting the food set in our stomach we got a bottle of wine and carton of ice cream and headed for the backyard for another sesh... and of course thats when my creativity is at it's prime!!
